Wine Tray

Our next accessory makes a good wine better and a bad wine palatable.

Now I don’t expect you to believe this and I certainly didn’t when I heard of it. It is a magnetic tray and a magnetic collar. You put your bottle of wine on the tray and slip the collar on and leave for two or three hours.

I did a test recently at a wine tasting that I was conducting. I asked my host to bring two of the same worst bottles of wine she could find. I opened them, tasted them both. They were both equally foul. I put one on the tray and the other not. Towards the end of the tasting I asked people to comment on the two wines (only I knew which one had been on the tray).

The response was astounding and unanimous: the one not on the tray was declared disgusting and undrinkable; the one on the tray was found drinkable, but what was more astounding to me was that several people pointed out that the one that had been on the tray had a clearer colour.
